The Group’s strategic growth, combined with the gradual transformation of the habitat and construction markets, has created a spirit of openness and attentiveness to customer needs at Saint-Gobain. To meet these expectations and to anticipate growing demand, the Group is developing new research skills and fostering a stronger culture of partnership and co-development.

Saint-Gobain believes that to be effective, R&D must be an open process. So it practices partnerships, with the department of Technical-marketing working jointly in the development of new technologies in accordance with market demands, and continually intensifying the exchange of expertise with universities and specialized organizations.

In addition, the NOVA External Venturing team, is dedicated to developing strategic partnerships between the Group and start-up companies all over the world. NOVA combines Saint-Gobain’s R&D, marketing and manufacturing resources with the latest ideas in building construction and high-performance materials. Since NOVA was created in 2006, it has selected more than 2,600 start-ups and formed over 65 partnerships, in various forms: co-development, licensing, manufacturing or commercial agreements, investments and joint- ventures.

Telhanorte’s e-commerce website is a recent example, with focus on the customer of the building materials distribution market; PAM Services, through which Saint-Gobain Canalização provides technical support to its customers at pre and post-sale; and Weber’s applications for mobiles and tablets.
